Animation

Describe a challenge (or set of challenges) you faced in planning for your sequence.
I had trouble getting started and figuring out exactly what it was that I wanted to animate.  I waited too long until i started and was pretty rushed for time.

How did you meet the challenge?

I talked to people and bounced some ideas around with them.  I also stayed came in to work on the project too.

Describe your rationale for animating what you animated, and for using the method (stop frame vs cut paper vs handdrawn vs rotoscope etc) you chose.
I have never been good at hand drawn and rotoscoping seem too hard to learn in the set amount of time that we had given to us.  So stop fame/cut paper was my only option.  I wanted mine to be different than other peoples too so I took more pictures than I needed.  Then I made the clips only 1 second long so that it was faster and would stand out just a little bit.

What was the best part of the project? The worst?
I think that the video turned out pretty well so i was happy with that but i dont normally like to do animations.

M&Ms

M&M STORY

Opening sequence bu bubda da du du du du duuuuuuuu. Explosion! Multiple celebrities fall from the sky into the shot.

Okay real opening shot is not happy music not sad music and it’s a shot behind a door and you see Brian walk into the house hands his girlfriend a bottle of wine and as he is introducing him self to the parents they offer him a seat and some m&ms he turns them down and sits on the couch.   (this is all a title sequence so you hear nothing but the music and see what’s happening and the name of all the actors.  This is just to introduce the characters. )

Shows Brian sitting at the table and the narration comes in talking about who he is what his name is.  Girlfriend’s parents ask about his child hood and he tells them how he never was aloud to have candy as a kid while seeing flashbacks.  He explains that after he moves out of the house he went on a binge and ate candy constantly. M&Ms were his thing.

He then asks to be excused and goes to the bathroom.  While he’s in they’re looking at him self in the mirror he looks down and sees a single M&M sitting on the counter.  He eats it and remembers his love for M&M he comes out of the bathroom and tries to discretely get to the bowl of all the m&ms and eat them all with out the other people noticing him.

Since he was caught he starts to run while hes running away he either trips inside or outside but over an m&m he gets up and is still running and while hes running people are just throwing m7ms at him.  He continues running and gets hit in the face with an entire back of m7ms and the screen goes black.

I still need a lot of work on the ending.

After story evaluation

His side, her side.
This girl and this boy were furnishing a little apartment.
The girl sat on the bed. She pushed off her shoes and lay back. She thought she could see a star.
"Come here, Jack. Try this bed. Bring one of those pillows,"
1.  What kind of details does Carver choose to describe the “place?”

He made it seem like it was in a poorer neighborhood and that people there didn’t really communicate very well with each other.

2.  2.What do the following passages tell you about the place?

The girl sat on the bed. She pushed off her shoes and lay back. She thought she could see a star.”

“Lights came on in the houses up and down the street.”

That people kind of did what they want and didn’t think or care about what other people though.  It could be a city too because its hard to see stars in cities or well lit places.  And they also made them seem like they weren’t every wealthy based on the fact that they were buying abed out of the front of someone’s yard.

3.  3.Now look at the passages that you chose. How do they talk about the place? Why are they important or unimportant?

That they didn’t care at all what other people thought, were pretty poor and didn’t have much.

Group Movie Project

Criteria: Group Movie Project

Describe your role in the production of the class movie. How did your contribution make things more efficient? How did you help make the movie better? What specific contributions did you make? Did you go above and beyond, or simply show up? Be honest.

I first helped with coming up with ideas for the movie.  When we were in the group I would say that Sarah and I came up with the most ideas for the movie.  Then during filming I was the script supervisor for one of the filming days. In the days that I wasn't I was an extra.  Then during editing I wasn't the one on the computer but I made sure to contribute my ideas to Jeremy who was the person editing.  I wouldn't say that I was above and beyond but I did work hard and contributed to the video.

Describe one or more things you learned about the writing process that you did not know before working on this project.

I didn't know all of the steps on how to make a script and I thought it was really interesting on how much you had to do.  The steps on making really makes you creative and makes you think about the video you want to make and what you want the outcome to look like.

Describe one or more things you learned about the production (filming) process that you did not know before working on this project.

I really think the biggest thing I learned about the filming process was how to write a proper script.  I'm going to use the steps to make all my videos from now on.  Its alway hard to get your ideas out with everyone trying to get their ideas put into the movie.

Describe one or more things you learned about the post-production (editing, sound, etc.) process that you did not know before working on this project.

I learned the correct way to L cut.  I always wanted to learn how to make conversation scenes like they do in the movies, and now i know.

Are you satisfied with the final product? Why or why not? Be honest.

It's not quiet as good as i thought it would be but I still like the video.  I think that i had really high expectations for this movie just because i knew how good all of the videos that people in this class has made.

Suggest one improvement for next year’s class. What could I do to make it easier/better/more informative/more fun?

I loved everything about it.  The only thing that I can think would make it better was if we had more time.

What is Creativity

Creativity is something that is original or new, or an old idea with a new twist.  Creativity can be found all over the world and almost anywhere you go because people create new things and ideas constantly. Every invention ever made or even thought of involved creativity.  A lot of the time it helps to look at other people be creative for you yourself to create ideas.  Being creative can help a lot of people and/or solve a problem.  Thats why the most creative people are the most successful because they did something that was different and unique that no one has ever done before.  That applies to movies, the internet, tv, and even entertainers.  If you are different and don't conform to what everyone else is doing, you will stick out and most likely be more successful.
A lot of people think that to be creative you must come up with an idea that is new or fresh. That is completely wrong.  You can be just as creative if not more creative if you take an idea that was already put out and you twist it or change it to make it your own.  If you can do that correctly it almost seems as if you did create something completely new and unique.
Being creative is not stealing ideas that have already been put out.  Even if it was an old idea that everyone forgot about, its still not creative for you to reput it out there.  To be creative you can never steal an idea from other people.

Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn't really do it, they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while. That's because they were able to connect experiences they've had and synthesize new things.
